The International Joint Laboratory ACROSS held its second successful Interns Meeting on April 8th, bringing together both on-site and online participants. The meeting served as a platform for interns to showcase their ongoing research projects and foster collaboration across different research areas.

The presentations covered a diverse range of topics, reflecting ACROSS’s commitment to interdisciplinary research. Each team took turns to present their work following the below agenda:

  • 14h30-14h40: Generative AI tools applied to code generation and image/environment generation (Ngo Phuong Anh, Rémi, Josué)

  • 14h40 – 14h50: Development of a flood model in Quang Ninh province for a virtual reality game within the SIMPLE project (Pham Gia Phong, Dang Thanh Loi, Dang Quang Nguyen)

  • 14h50 – 15h00: Construction of a web interface for the SIMPLE project (Giovanni, Jammel) – since they’re both part-time interns and couldn’t make it to the meeting, their supervisor – Arthur Brugière – Technical Development Officer of SIMPLE project – has helped to make a quick presentation of their work.

  • 15h00 – 15h10: Pedagogical aspects for the SIMPLE project (Nguyen Gia Bach) – Bach wasn’t unfortunately available to attend the meeting and one of his supervisors, Jeanne Cottenceau – Project Coordinator of SIMPLE project – has stepped up to help make a recap.

  • 15h10 – 15h20: Models of sustainable fisheries (Tran Thi Quynh Anh, Ekaterina Balashova)

  • 15h20 – 15h30: Surveys to determine socio-environmental issues in the Bac Hung Hai – ACROSS “fields” (Ly Ngoc Thuy Duong, Phuong Anh )

  • 15h30 – 15h40: Surveys to determine socio-environmental issues in Duc Hoa – ACROSS “fields” (Mai Nhat Minh)

  • 15h30 – 15h40: Building an interactive model and table on multi-modality in urban transport for the MooV’Hanoi project (Truong Tuan Nghia) – the presentation was made by Alexis Drogoul – Co-Director of ACROSS and one of Nghia’s supervisor as due to some last minute urgency, he couldn’t be present.

Each presentation concluded with a lively Q&A session, allowing interns to delve deeper into specific research topics and exchange ideas. The ACROSS leadership expressed their appreciation for the interns’ dedication and contributions, emphasizing the importance of their work for the lab’s overall success.

The ACROSS Interns Meeting serves as a valuable platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration, propelling the lab’s research endeavors forward. The diverse and innovative projects presented during the meeting highlight the talent and potential of ACROSS’s next generation of researchers.
