Research Engineer

The Research Engineer works in close connection with the students and researchers in ACROSS, in particular with the two directors, Dr Alexis Drogoul, IRD, and Pr Nguyen Ngoc Doanh, TLU, in order to contribute, with his/her skills in computer science, web-based technologies and communication, to a better integration and greater efficiency of the research conducted in ACROSS.

He/she makes sure in particular that all the software and experimental setups produced in the lab are up and working; he/she coordinates the computer developments made by the team on GitHub; he/she sets up and maintains the website of the laboratory as well as the websites of the associated projects (PREMISS, SUCCESS, GAMA, COMOKIT…); he/she designs, with the researchers, the experimental setups for participatory simulations and the access to high-performance computing infrastructures; he/she ensures that online resources (incl. online simulations and demos on the GAMA platform) are accessible and up to date.

• Excellent level in computer science, especially in programming (Java, R, Javascript
• Advanced skills in MS Office Products (Word, PPT, Excel) to support documents preparation
• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and to quickly adapt to multiple priorities.
• High attention-to-detail and organized, especially in administrative tasks
• Independence and rigor
• Proven ability to work in a multilingual and multicultural environment
• Spoken and written languages: Vietnamese and a fluent English are mandatory. French would be a plus.
• Curiosity for research activities in social sciences and interdisciplinary aspects would be highly appreciated
• At least a bachelor degree with some experience in international cooperation
• Minimum of one year or experience in research projects proposal writing or research team management
• Experience in coordinating multidisciplinary international projects would be a plus
