IRD is a public French scientific and technological institution that has been working for 75 years in Southern countries. Its research, expertise, valorization and training activities aim at contributing to the economic, social and cultural development of the South. IRD in Vietnam represents about 10 researchers (annual average) posted in various institutions, 5 permanent local staff, and 40 temporary staff. The partnership instruments managed by the representative office of IRD include an International Mixed Unit (UMI 209 UMMISCO) and five International Mixed Laboratories (LOTUS, DRISA, LE_CARE, LUSES and ACROSS).
The position will be located in the premises of ACROSS, in Thuyloi University (TLU), Hanoi. ACROSS (for “Advanced Computational Research for Sustainability Science”) is an international laboratory, jointly established by IRD,TLU and other partners to design modeling and simulation tools in support of a scientific approach to sustainability in the management of irrigation systems in Vietnam. ACROSS promotes a progressive, problem-oriented methodology to organize the contributions of scientists, students and practitioners on two main case studies (Bac Hung Hai in the Red River Delta and Duc Hoa in the Mekong Delta). ACROSS also serves as a hub and host for several projects in modeling and sustainability science.
