On the morning of April 22, 2025, the ACROSS Joint Laboratory was pleased to welcome a delegation from the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups for an interactive session featuring the “Lũ Lụt” (Flooding) model developed by the SIMPLE project.
The session was led by Arthur Bruigier, Technical Development Officer of the SIMPLE project, who introduced the students to the objectives behind the VR model. “Lũ Lụt” is part of a larger suite of immersive educational tools created by SIMPLE, which integrate scientific simulations to help raise awareness about urgent environmental issues – particularly among children and youth.
During the visit, participants were provided with an in-depth overview of the model’s scientific foundations and its real-world context in Vietnam, where flooding remains a critical environmental and socio-economic challenge. Several students had the opportunity to experience the model firsthand through VR headsets, gaining a more engaging and intuitive understanding of flooding dynamics.
