On February 7, 2025, ACROSS Lab welcomed scholars from Thuy Loi University TLU), who have been awarded funding for their research on solutions for socio-environmental systems.

The five selected projects include:

  1. Designing an IoT system on a UAV platform with web visualization for large-scale water quality monitoring in reservoirs.
  2. Deep learning-based forecasting of groundwater levels: A case study of a monitoring station in Hanoi.
  3. Developing a cloud-based visualization interface for GAMA to simplify the simulation of complex socio-environmental systems.
  4. Building a real-time soil NPK monitoring system for smart agriculture and climate change adaptation.
  5. Evaluating erosion dynamics and determinants in the Da River Basin, Vietnam.

Collaboration for Future Research and Integration

During the presentation, ACROSS researchers engaged in insightful discussions, providing constructive feedback and raising critical questions about the potential and challenges of each project. The scholars and researchers reached a consensus on the importance of integrating IoT, AI, data visualization, and stakeholder engagement to advance research and develop long-term solutions for sustainable socio-environmental systems.

Additionally, TLU scholars and ACROSS researchers agreed to continue discussions to ensure concrete outcomes for TLU’s annual scientific conference. The next presentation, focusing on project progress, will take place during ACROSS’s closing workshop this summer.
